MANAGERIAL &

ADVISORY CAPACITY

  • Assisting the client in developing and maintaining management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Liaising with the client’s financial team to maintain the client’s pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions with the relevant role players.
  • Liaising with the client’s financial team to maintain employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends.
  • Recommending benefit programs to the client’s management.
  • Liaising with the client’s financial team in respect of the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts
  • Designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.

ORGANIZATIONAL MAINTENANCE,

RECRUITMENT & TRAINING

  • Assisting clients in ensuring legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource statutory and bargaining council requirements.
  • Development of client specific policies and procedures in accordance with changing legislation, sectoral determinations and industry and client specific requirements.
  • Assisting clients in the implementation of the client’s policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in the maintenance the client’s work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions with relevant role players.
  • Counselling managers on candidate selection by conducting and analysing exit interviews and recommending changes.
  • Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and implementing conducting orientation and training programs with relevant role players.
  • Assisting clients in ensuring planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees.

GRIEVANCE, DISCIPLINE &

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Hearing and resolving employee grievances.
  • Counselling employees and supervisors
  • Conducting disciplinary investigations.
  • Drafting of disciplinary warnings, notices and/or suspension notices.
  • Representing the client at hearings either as initiator or as chairperson, depending on the seniority of the employee.
  • Maintenance of all disciplinary records.

THIRD PARTY

ENGAGEMENTS

  • Act as clients’ representative during Bargaining Council and/or CCMA proceedings.
  • Assisting clients in relation to matters relating to Bargaining Council and/or CCMA proceedings, including conciliations, arbitrations, interlocutory applications (jurisdiction, postponements, condonation, rescissions, exemptions etc.)
  • Liaising with the client’s attorneys in relation to Labour Court and/or Labour Appeals Court matters.
  • Assisting in relation to matters as they pertain to the Department of Labour and/or Bargaining Council in relation to statutory or sectoral compliance.
  • Assisting clients in relation to negotiating collective bargaining agreements with applicable trade unions.
  • Strike management.

Skills

Reporting

  • The compilation of the skills reports (ATR and WSP) per business entity (6 entities) based on comprehensive information provided by the Client in the required format.
  • The submission of the skills reports to the SETA as per the applicable time periods.

Employment

Equity

  • The facilitation of the Employment Equity process as required by legislation.
  • The chairing of employment equity committee (EEC) meetings.
  • The compilation of the EEA 12 and EEA 13 based on workforce analysis, EAP’s and assessments as per EEC inputs.
  • The compilation and submission of EE reports (on-line).
